And since the Chevy Van & GMC Handy-van were both "G" series vans, I
somehow dodged a "very wrong" answer... and I should have added a bit of detail
on which C trucks... I'd assume just the C10s (1/2 ton), and not the 3/4 or
1 ton (C20 & C30)... I think the K series used different hubcaps all
together... but I could be wrong.

Ben,
I met up with a guy back in August who had a 65 Chevy Van. It originally
was a panel van, and a previous owner put solid windows in it (they didn't
pop out or anything)... this van was also a factory 4 cylinder engine van
with 3 speed on the column... talk about a nightmare of linkage...
What I found interesting was the fact that his side door used what we
know
as the "left side intermediate door handle", or the "8 door door handle",
only it is on the right side door... and to open it, you twist it up
(quite
an unnatural feeling!)....
The hubcaps fit all the C & R series trucks, 61-63 & 64-66...
Take care!

Hello-
A fellow vanner on a vintage van site recently asked me what parts are
transferable between Corvair FCs and the earliest Chevy vans. I came up
with at least steering wheels, horn buttons, dash clusters, glove box
doors, door handles (exterior and interior and gaskets for such), vent
window handles, turn signal levers, and interior window cranks. Also
hubcaps.
I know Clark's has reproduced much of this. I would like to give the
Chevy/GMC van guys info for another parts source for their vans. GM
"borrowed" lots of our FC parts in order to bring out the Chevy van in
1964 with extreme economy. Question is- how much was borrowed?
This thread would not correlate to the 1968 GMC van Pete Koehler
recently talked about on the Corvair Forums. GM totally redesigned the
Chevy and GMC vans for 1967 and the common shared parts mentioned above
were no longer used.
