[FC] question about an FC

While looking over my 62 Corvan I noticed the headlight bezels looked as though they were painted instead of shiny aluminum,same with the grille piece.I took some fine steel wool with a polish but they didn't shine up all that great. I might mention the van is a former Bell telephone service truck. Could it be possible that "fleet" trucks might have had painted bezels?Anyone know for sure? ed in Florida.
