[FC] Alternator Question

I have a '63 Rampside that has been converted to an alternator. 



When I went to change the alternator today (bearing starting to howl), I could not find out how to get the front mounting bolt off.  I could not seem to find/reach it with a socket and extension.  The rear bolt (9/16") came off fine.  Am I missing something, or is there a trick to reaching the front bolt?
