[FC] Front suspension differences

Do they swap out either way?? (early in late or late into an early) I've noticed 
>a notch on the top center of the 64 crossmember for shifter clearance.? Does

           I would sure like to see a photo of a 64 crossmember with the notch in it.  I converted my 63 rampside to the later style shifter and gas tank and sure didn't put a notch in my 63 crossmember.  It seems to shift extremely well with no clearance problems at all.
