[FC] hard time getting brake cable off..tips?

I'm doing the brakes on our new 61 Greenbrier, and there isn't any fluid  
coming out of the front passenger line. I'm trying to take the apart the  
connection between the steel line and the rubber hose, but it's like they are  
welded together. Even resorting to heating and using vise grips just rounds 
the  fitting on the steel line side. Any tips for removal, or am I destined 
to  replace the steel line as well as the hose?
