check for crap in fuel. start with removing the stones on the input of the
carbs where the lines attach.
without feeling it or seeing it , my way is to check fuel pressure with a
left line replacement i made up with a gauge in it.
if those stones are full , plan on taking carbs apart to clean , either
remove the tank to clean , or put a huge filter in line that is easy to
change.
then i would be checking for loss of spark at a plug wire with a test plug
i made up with an alligator clip brazed to the side of an old ac plug. the
test plugs you buy are too wide a gap to see much with stock ignition.
if pertronics is involved , feel for a coil so hot you cant touch it...they
run warm or hot to touch , but if bad they get too hot to touch. cool down
and run some more to get home for replacement..
