Of course, you can hook up the wires any way you want, as long as they 
go to the correct function, but typically --

>GREEN: Right turn light
>YELLOW: Left turn light
>BLACK/BROWN: tailights
>WHITE: Ground
>
And, you definitely want to connect that ground, both to the Corvair 
chassis and the trailer!  I believe, without looking that those colors 
should be similar to the Corvair, but don't "know" without an actual 
look-see.
