You have to have a real strong running FC to keep up with any good running standard shift Corvair car - especially at highway speeds where aerodynamics (or lack of) come into play. The 300-600 extra pounds of an FC over a car makes a difference. I will say, I understand how FCs can feel stronger by the way the front lifts and the driver is right on the nose... like a bucking bronco (not ford bronco). That 80hp monza convertible would feel faster if you were to strap yourself to the left front fender and let 'er rip - lol
But yeah, just enjoy it. Never hurts to pull the top off and clean out all the garbage / varmint home building materials blocking airflow thru the heads and jugs - maybe deflashing while you're there. I spend hours deflashing the heads of ANY motor I build. YMMV

A more positive ID would head number. You can also look for the 3 ribs cast into the side of the crankcase that indicate a 164 motor. Either way, if it runs well, just enjoy it.
