[FC] A question about engine missing and temp light

Hello gang;  Yesterday I took the Rampside out for a run and as I was cruising along about 50 mph I noticed a miss, not all the time but intermittent.  Since I was late for my dr. appointment I kept going and made it there okay.  On the return trip the same miss appeared, again not all the time.  Then the temp light came on so I pulled over and checked things out.  I noted that there was plenty of oil on the dipstick and the engine didn't seem that hot so after a little more checking I got back in and headed out again.  The temp light was off so I relaxed a bit.  The intermittent miss continued and after about a mile the temp light came back on.  After a brief stop again, I decided to try getting home since I was close.  Once home I again checked things out and parked the truck.  After consulting my shop manual I returned to the now cooled down truck and did further checking like making sure that the temp sending system was connected.  Then I noticed that one of the spark plug wires, though sitting on the plug end was not connected to the plug!  Thus I now knew what the miss was caused by but I am wondering whether it also was the cause of the temp light coming on.  Thanks!  Steve
