whatever you use for floor boards will get wet -- use an appropriate
weatherproof coating, just like you wouldn't leave new steel floors bare.

'spose that would depend on what you use to seal it -- try Vulkem
I do believe POR-15 will also coat wood products, if that is your
solution to corrosion issues. In fact, POR-15 markets a product called
Pelucid specifically as a replacement for marine varnishes. Also a
product named Glisten, a clear marine Gelcoat repair. POR-15 itself is
advertised as "Use to waterproof insulation or wood" & "Use as a bonding
agent on wood or Styrofoam"
These same problems occur with houses, and that doesn't seem to deter
folks from building them out of wood products, so what is the real
reason for dissing wood floors? Sure would beat the styrofoam sheets I
found under one Corvair carpet. New steel might enhance the structural
integrity of the unibody, but wood is probably stouter than those Rusty
Sheets under discussion. Long live the Spruce Goose!!
