Greg,
All FCs use the same length cable, but the later(64-65) trucks use a different trans member and a cable with a different end bracket. Early 61s used a funky linkage arrangement at the clutch end. The cable you have should fit without mods. I have a 61 as well and have done this.
Good Luck,

Subject: [FC] Clutch Cable Problem Resolved
Thanks to all who replied to my clutch woes a while back. I put in my brother's cable from a 62 Rampside (mines a 61) and found it about an inch short of reaching even with the clevis turned out to full length. I was in a hurry so after confirming all the slack was out of the cable (which moves quite freely) and was pulled all the way back I added a temporary "link" of metal to connect the clevii. It works for now.
I believe Clark's only sells one clutch cable for all FCs. The mounting bracket at the rear is installed correctly (though if I reversed it I think it might bring the entire cable back far enough for the clevis to reach). Is my clutch linkage bent or was there a difference between 61 and 62 clutch cables? I've heard the rear cross members are different which would affect the entire cable. The cable would just have a little more or less snaking wouldn't it? Thanks again.
