??? Be sure and check the dimmer switch it's self. I have seen them take out dash lights and headlights when you click on them and they hang in between contacts or there is a bad contact.
??? Try hitting the dimmer switch a few times and see what happens.

Subject: [FC] update: headlight switch problems
Thanks to everyone that replied with possible solutions!
I should clarify that I started tracing the dead tail lights from the bulb,
ending at the headlight switch. Power goes into the switch, but none goes out
(except for the wire to the headlight dimmer switch). Turn signals work fine.
I was wondering about the switch itself, and if anyone has run across one
that just plain wore out. I took the switch apart and cleaned all the
connections, but that didn't help. I'll be spending some quality time with the
cars
today, color-sanding the rampside and hopefully fixing the light situation in
the convertible (the wife is demanding to drive it because he weather is so
nice!).
Now that I think of it, I probably have an extra switch attached to one of
the spare dash clusters stored away someplace, I'll dig that out and try the
swap and see what that does.
