best way is to poke a hole in the lowest point . i use a body pick hammer ,  
put the sharp end to the tank , and hit the face of the pick with a good ball  
pean. one good strike will put about a 1/2 inch hole. ( i am  assuming you do 
this with common sense over a good size pan , in a room  with no open flame 
heat etc etc etc)  then clean the hole and  solder a clean penny or quarter 
over it with a good size iron.  works well  and fast.
 
now if you are chicken , just unhook the fuel line and wait forever...  there 
is a hose near the back edge of the tank.
only way to do it right is remove it and clean it and use the  sealer.    
worth it if you are keeping it.
