[FC] carb float repair

I know I asked this question several months ago; but does anyone have a  good 
carb float repair method? The "good" used floats I got from a major  supplier 
had the corrosion pinholes in them; just like the ones I wanted to  replace. 
As a result, they fill up with gas over time. I don't know if  powder-coating 
would stand up to the gasoline, and someone mentioned tinning the  entire 
outside of the float with solder?
