[FC] Speedo cable issues

this piece is a square "spring"  it was round then compressed to make it 
square. it can bind up and shear off in the gear shaft. in a pinch you might find 
an ac delco repair tip that fits on the cut end with heat. its plastic so you 
must make sure the cable is good and free running.
 try a dental pick or something like that to dig the broken end out. then 
make sure you lube the new cable well. i use a silicone grease so temparature 
does not affect it (i hope). also make sure the speedo did not bind up at 
times...or holes in casing letting water in etc etc.
