The first time that any production Corvair sells for $70,000 it will make the Guinness World Book of Records. The highest priced selling FC that I know of was the one that was converted to operate in water. The second highest one was the 1962 Amblewagon that sold to a foreign buyer on ebay last month. Have I missed any??? Paul in CT

Subject: [FC] $14,000 rampside
There was a guy selling a rampside in the San Francisco area for $14,000 on
craigslist.org. It had been converted to a 140hp, with a raised engine cover,
Supposedly a recent "restoration". I contacted him, thinking it was a typo,
and $1400 seemed a little cheap, but no, it was $14,000. Firm. He said that
recently a rampside sold for $70,000 at an auction "back east". Does anyone
know of this apparently solid gold rampside that sold for $70,000? I think the
seller may be dyslexic, and doesn't know where to put the decimal symbol on
his prices...
