I HAVE TWO RAMPSIDES ONE WITH A 3 SPEED TRANNY. THE ENGINE ONLY HAD
52,000 MILES AND WAS ORIGINAL. NO SMOKE, NOISE RAN LIKE A TOP. THE
THREE SPEED HAD SUCH A SHORT GAP FROM 1ST TO SECOND IT WAS
FRUSTRATING. THE GAP FROM SECOND TO THIRD WAS LIKE THE GRAND CANYON
ALAS THE ENGINE WENT UP IN FLAMES ONE DAY. THE BODY NEEDED WORK AND
SO IT SITS WAITING FOR ME TO GET GOING ON RESTORATION. I LOVED MY
TRUCK SO MUCH I GOT ANOTHER LAST YEAR. IT HAS A 140 CAR ENGINE AND A
POWERGLIDE. IT IS SO MUCH NICER FOR ME TO FLIP THAT LEVER ON THE DASH
AND GO. THE LARGER ENGINE GIVES ME A PRETTY GOOD RESPONSE. IN FACT
I'D WOULD BE AFRAID TO SEE JUST HOW FAST IT CAN GO. I DON'T WANT TO
BE LIKE A BUG ON THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE INSIDE. GOOD LUCK FINDING
WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE. MAYBE OTHERS WITH A STANDARD TRUCK ENGINE AND
A POWERGLIDE LIKE THE GREENBRIAR OWNERS CAN GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA
HOW WELL THEIR COMBO'S WORK
