Hey Guys,
I am back at the laptop!!!! Did not leave town : -)
but some days wish I could. Tim , I know this is not
direct but I figure I can tell you and Paul about the
Lakewood this way.
Here it is in a nutshell:
Lakewood is in Meriden CT - the guy is the second
owner - car has never left Meriden, except for brief
trips to local Car shows a while back.
Odometer reads 30,000 miles. Body from what I can see
has not seen much of the outside - no pitting, chrome
is real nice including the back grill under the
engine.
I was a little groggy when we went to look at it - but
my girlfriend said even the weather stripping felt
nice and squishy.
Like I said before the car has not been driven at all
in 3 years so all the mechanicals except for a few
things will have to be looked at and I'm sure in some
( or many )cases replaced. Engine had some work done
on it - it turns but does not start. As someone said
in a response this could be stale gas.
M situation is this - i have pretty much made a deal
with the guy to buy it. I was planning on having a
2 car garage put up in the summer, but this has moved
that schedule up. I am way too busy at work to do what
it would take to properly get the car going, and do
the brakes - so I am looking for a mechanic that I can
flat bead the car to, Paul if you know of anyone that
you would recommend I would greatly appreciate it. I
am going to check with a guy here in Hamden, CT that
has done some work on the Greenbrier.
If it ends up being too much for me to handle ( I am
also looking for someone to paint my Brier ) , or
something falls through, I will certainly let you
guys know right away.
Hope this gives you more info. I will keep you posted.
