I would respectfully disagree with the reference to Greenbriers being
more valuable or more sought after than Corvans. I do understand that
Greenbriers have more interior features but a lot of that stuff is worn out, others
still remain like new for the fortunate few. It may be true in some cases but if
you ever go to a van meet you will see that the majority of customized vans
arent window vans. Most "vanners" dont want windows in their vans, well at least
not a lot of them, especially side windows. I get emails all the time from folks
wanting me to keep an eye out for a decent van body for them to restore. The
majority of them specify that they want no window van bodies and prefer doors
without glass in them also.
Im not saying that's the case for all people since I know a lot of
folks arent customizing their vans but rather just having a good time with
them(sometimes in them too) or using them for daily transportation. I know
myself, having several different vans, that I kinda like driving my window vans around
town since its better visibility. However, when its time to hit the road and
attend a meet or camp out,I want the privacy of a no window body van. I do still
like rear door glass in most cases but that sometimes interferes with murals or
paint schemes. Lets face it,without rear glass of somekind that opens, these
ol vans get pretty darn hot unless you are one of the lucky ones who have
installed A/C.
I ve had a few inquiries about my Corvan and even been asked by one
person if I knew where to get no window doors to replace the rear ones on it
with glass. I do have a set already but I havent heard back so Im guessing no
sale there. Anyhoooo, that's my 2 cents.
