[FC] radio questions....

Hi all!
I am swapping out the piece of crap radio that came with my "original" 64 700 for one that actually works.
There seems to be quite a difference in mounting and wiring.
The POC has "64 works good" written on it and the tuning dial mount (right side) is meant to go through a small hole in the dash.
The radio I am putting in has a recessed tuning dial and requires a larger hole along with a little cup device. I bought it at an outside booth at the CORSACON in Portland. The fellow said it came most likely from a Chevy II but would fit fine. OK, no real problem there, I can file the hole in the dash out to fit.
What I need some help with is what wire goes where. The POC radio has four vertical blades while the "new" one has three slots like do dads.
Looking inside I would say the power goes to the furthest right and the to/from speaker connections make up the other two.... one being ground I think.
Is there a special plug in for this type of radio?
I can send pics to clarify....
toodles
