[FC] Rampside Door/Tail Latches

Yesterday I was able to rip some parts off a '61 Loadside that'll be going
to the crusher some time soon. One of the things I grabbed was the two
tailgate latches.

I've been having problems with my Ramp door, the leading latch kept popping
open no matter how I adjusted it. With two relatively fresh latches from
the tailgate of the Loadside to use as a comparison I decided I'd spend the
afternoon diagnosing the source of my problem.

I know it was posted to the list that all four latches for a Rampside are
different, however my eyeball inspection shows me that there are really only
two latches, left and right, and that the only difference between the tail
and ramp latches is the length of the latch "tongue" itself, which is
riveted onto the latch mechanism. Although my exploration today didn't take
me this far, I see no reason why the two rivets holding the tongue onto the
mechanism couldn't be drilled out and replaced if the best solution to your
your problem might be using a less abused tailgate latch on a ramp door.

Regards,
Joel
