[FC] part wanted / history and (humor?)

Well I'm sure not an FC expert but the 61 GB I sold to Rickie
Williams was a fairly original
GB except for the 140 PG engine and it had no indication of ever
having a front pan. My current
64 has the pan and I believe it is an original item. I wonder if it
was a protector of steering linkage
parts from not only snow and slush but from debris and even surface
water from the roadway during
heavy rains while driving. Now Kansas is a different story altogether
as the shield may have been to
prevent Toto, Dorothy or corn stalks from becoming stuck on the boomerang arm.
