[FC] Trans axel

I've never heard of any Corvair transmission refered to as a "Muncie
Rockcrusher". It is generally agreed that the '66-69 Saginaw is the
strongest of the 'vair trannys. The diffs are essentially the same, and in
stock configuration would also be a weak point for a 250hp engine, with only
2 spider gears repeated hard launches have a tendency to break the spider
gears. Kits to modify the diff to a 4 spider gear configuration are
available.
Regards,
Joel

I'm looking on using a Corvair transaxle to a 250HP motor. Will the "so
called " Muncy Rockcrusher Corvair transaxle handle the load? What
other trans axel be used to handle the HP if a Corvair would not work?
Tom
