There are specific places to drill the holes in early convertibles. This information is contained in the Chevrolet Accessory Installation Manuals. One was printed for each year. You need one from 1962/63 or 64 for the placement. If you can't find one, contact me off list and I will scan it for you. Paul in CT noahsarkinc .... @ .... earthlink.net (remove spaces and dots)

Subject: [FC] Seatbelt (Convertible) Installation
Has anybody out there installed rear seat-belts in an early convertible?
I want to be able to take my daughters for a ride, so I need to install seatbelts for the rear seat.
I couldn't find any installation information in the body section in the Shop Manual or the Technical Guide.
The front belts were easy since there were existing holes.
Any suggestions on where to anchor the rear belts?
Thanks,
Scott Wilson
