I ran my 61 Rampside on methyl alcohol for 6 mounts about 25 years ago with 
good results.  I also custom built a 110/164 Corvair engine to run on ethyl 
alcohol and it put out more HP and no pollution.  On an emissions test they 
thought their machine was broken till I told them it was fueled by alcohol.  And 
the oil never got dirty.
