my gosh do you guys have a clarks catalog? he lays it out as nice as anyone
as far as id ing the clutch stuff. 1 7/8 is early for sure. there is NO
reason you cant come up with the right combination of stuff. i suspect(without
seeing it) you have an incorrect mix of stud/pressure plate/throwout bearing. i
really doubt there is any issue with the cable/pedal unless you modified it
trying to figure out the problem. i would not consider trying the hydraulic
nitemare on a stock vehicle...and the carpet makes NO difference in the equation
at all. i have done this many times. if it was me i would convert to all late
clutch stuff anyhow. get the book out. i prefer late because you can use the
camaro throwout bearing that is designed to last under constant slight
pressure..and it does. i went thru throwout bearings on my rampy yearly when it was
stick until i changed over.they dont like setting around then going on 1500
mile trips i guess. after putting late stuff in it it was fine until i put a
powerglide in it..now it is even finer..
someone near you must have a late setup you can get??? good luck and measure
carefully. regards tim colson
