HI EVERYONE
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 61 RAMPSIDE. IHAVE ALWAYS WANTEEDONE SINCE I SAW
MY FIRST ONE IN THE SIXTIES-I WAS IN JUNIOR HIGH AT THE TIME. SEVERAL
DECADES LATER AS AN EMPTY NESTER I FINALLY HAD THE CHANGE TO BUY ONE.
MUCH TO MY HORROR THE TRANSPORT COMPANY TIED IT DOWN SO HARD THAT
AS IT WAS BOUNCING AROUND THE BODY WAS BENT RIGHT AT THE FAR SIDE
OF THE RAMP. TO GREATPEOPLE AT THE TRANSPORT COMPANY WILL NOT
RETURN MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS FROM THE SO CALLED CLAIMS NUMBER- THAT
IS IF THE NUMBER REALLY HASW ANYBODY WHO ANSWERS. A HIGH SCHOOL
BUDDY HAS OWNED A BODY SHOP FOR OVER 30 YEARS. HE HAS AN ESTIMATE
OF ABOUT $3000.00 BUCKS TO UNDO WHAT THE TRANSPORT COMPANY DID.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO MIGHT HAVE THAT SECTION OF THE BODY THAT
RUNS UP FROM THE ROCKER PANEL AND THE REAR SIDE OF THE RAMP LATCHES
ONTO? I SEE SOME BONDO ON THE INSIDE OF THE BOX AND WONDER HOW
MUCH SHEET METAL WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED SO THE RAMP CAN BE USED.
IT JUST FROSTS ME TO THINK THAT OF ALL THE DAMAGE IT WOULD BE AT THE
RAMP THAT MAKES A RAMPSIDE TRUCK TO SPECIAL. IT WON'T CLOSE COMPLETELY AND
THE REAR QUARTER PANEL IS PULLED DOWN AND PUSHED
FORWARD SO I CAN'T LOWER IT. ANY TIPS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED-
WAYNE.
