[FC] Tire Size? (also Wheel Backspace)

I had a 7.00x14 tire (old Michelin X) on a FC rim. It had good tread and
held air (also seriously dryrotted, so it had to be cut off of the rim). I
measured the circumference before I cut it off--- 26.0 inches. The
205-70R14s on 5.5 inch wide wheels that I run now measure 25.3 inches. That
would slightly increase the axle ratio but since I have a 3.27 and live in
the hills I'm not complaining. The 205-70s are also rated at 1433 pounds
apiece compared to the old 7.00's 1400 pound rating, so they're in the same
ballpark. I like them.

Not really. A 7.00-14 was pretty big. We have 215/70-14 front,
225/70-14 rear. The rears look rather big, the 215s are ok. Bear in
mind you need some decent load rating for an FC as well. I'd consider
the 205/70-14 a good size for an FC.
