I've found a cheap alternative to Dynamat and the other similar products. I 
use the modified asphalt window sealer that they sell at Lowe's or Home Depot. 
As far as I can tell, it's the same material as Dynamat; but with a different 
outer layer. Also, depending on what size roll you buy, it's less than a $1 a 
square foot, as opposed to $25 a square foot. I wouldn't use it around the 
engine compartment, though. It may not be stable at high temps.
