My 62 assembly manual shows it with a 2 bolt master cylinder with a cylinder
that has a thumb screw at the top. It shows a date change of 5-10-62 for the
3824599 Opt. removed..... I checked the 62 parts book and 3824599 is a non
existent part the best that I can tell...... just one more mystery to
solve..... it does show that the new design master cylinder (5462031) was put
into production on 8-13-62 and replaced 5461000 master cylinder. Probably
more information than you want!!!!! Paul in CT

I only have the 61 FC assembly manual but for questions like that you need
the 62 assembly manual. Section #5 sheet 3.00 shows that all 61's have the
4 bolt master cylinder It does show all production line changes and dates
of approval. For instance on 12-30-60 the engine compartment side rail
baffles were approved for installation.
