look for surplus onan 1100 watt units  they use 4  12 volt bats . they get 
tossed by larger supermarkets etc. i had a bunch but sold them all at hamfests.  
they are great till you have to buy batteries...now you can find  them 
cheaper.  i dont have one here anymore but i may get one and put 4 smaller car 
batteries on it remotely.(garage?) they are quick in switching and no spikes get 
thru.  they weigh enough to give you a hernia..about 135 lbs...   see ya
