For those of you who couldn't make it to tonight's
meeting, you missed a great one. Chris Donovan and Tiffany
Puliafico from Sullivan Tires came and Chris was our Guest
Speaker. He held court for more than 45 minutes fielding all
sorts of tire related questions. He was most knowledgeable in
terms of tire wear, not necessarily tread wear and what 'breaks
tires down'. He seems optimistic that with his worldwide
resources that he may be able to find one tire manufacturer that
will take the lead in producing a limited run of 185X80R13's.
Chris said he would be willing to return again, (maybe January),
to update us on his efforts. Even if he finds a company
willing there is the Federal laws requiring extensive DOT tire
testing these tires have to pass in order to get the DOT# that
has to be stamped on each tire that it met strict safety
standards. Tiffany is "the voice of Sullivan Tire" that you
hear when you call as she heads the call center. She to is very
knowledgeable with the tires and as a special bonus she told
those who were there to call, ask for her and she will give us a
code for a discount on our future tire purchases.<br>
All and all a very productive meeting. I'll keep you
posted if a source of tires comes up in the future. For the
moment, 'wheels are in motion'. <br>
