Scott, I had people I know who were doing the ride and they came to me
afterward and told me they were very impressed with the huge Bay State Corvairs
sign cheering me on. Thank you, your family and our club officers SO much for
doing what you did. I was so very touched by that.
All along the route people were out on their front lawns, on street corners and
intersections, in parking lots and driving by us in their cars shaking
clappers, noisemakers and cowbells. It was such a phenomenally
emotional experience (forget about the phyical!), I don't know how many
times I shed a tear along the way...
Dave
PS. I've attached a picture of me taking the Boston Ferry back from P-Town
after the ride on Sunday. The beads I'm wearing were given to me by a 12
year old boy at a waterstop on the route who was holding a sign saying
"Thanks to all of you, I'm 12 years old now."

While we were at VolksVair...
our own Dave McMillan was sweating it out for a most worthwhile cause - the Pan
Mass Challenge. At 9:55 a.m., just minutes before the start of the car show,
he
called to say that he was already at Dighton-Rehoboth High School for lunch
before continuing his trek.
Since I grew up on the very street that leads to the high school, I arranged
with our officers and my parents to give Dave a sign of support from our
club.
"We are the best" as Elaine reminds us, and David certainly did us
proud to
participate in this most worthy cause.
David, "you're the best!" Congratulations!
