<DIV>I'm almost afraid to answer the question due to the responses I generated by mentioning to close it for the summer. The hole according to the directions on the plate should be "blocked" during the summer. The plate should be installed for summer operation with the motor warmed up and the thermostat door open. You can always reach down and open the door manually to install the plate rather than warming it up as directed.</DIV>
