member one way to reduce vapor lock is to put chrome fuel lines on your car.
He claims that the chrome lines handle (I assume he means disperse the heat
better) and reduces the risk of vapor lock. He doesn’t have chrome
lines, so he wraps his fuel lines with aluminum foil to help the lines cool
faster once it has happened. Could be an old wives’ tale, don’t
know. I have chrome fuel lines and I never had vapor lock and my 140
powerglide runs hot when I run the air conditioning. I also installed auxiliary
electric fans which help keep the engine cooler. And that’s my
story and I’m stick’in to it. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

yellow and black Corvair convertible on the side of the road by the exit ramp

vapor lock from sitting in traffic so long and his intent was to sit and let it
cool down. After trying a few things with traffic whizzing by, Chuck
hooked up a tow line and pulled John and his yellow bird to the rt 1 exit and
into the state highway garage off rt 1. We were just starting to tow the
car when John Wingle came by and we waved him on. Things were under
control. Now I (Sharon) was feeling a lot better about them working on it
in a nice quiet spot to figure things out - no cars whizzing by.</span></font><o:p></o:p></p>

a garage got some gas to put into the carbs (I think) and the car started right
