Too darn cold to make much progress.

I did not want to leave it over the winter in bare metal so I took advantage of a nice fall day to get a coat of primer on it so the car has a single coat of primer. Picture of the car just after I finsihed is attached.

The hood and the trunk ( I replaced them both because of some rot along the leading and trailing edges ) have a few coats as I sanded them with guide coat between coats. I think they are coming along fine, but the guide coat revealed my body repairs of small dings could have been better.

After that I pretty well stopped other than trying to weld up the hole that had been cut for single exhaust and making a mess so I replaced the whole small panel on the right side of the rear valance. I took some picture of the repair but I may have lost them.

How's the new garage working out?

Perhaps I'm stating the obvious but have you tried Rob at Corvair ranch?

He could cut out a little more than you need and ship it to you. I think it would be small enough that UPS would take it.

Did I send you pictures of the piece I got from him and welded in?
