Quick test, turn the ignition to the run positionm with a test light the positive wire on the coil should be hot. If not check it at the wire harness plug on the left side. /disconnect the plug and inspect it looking for corrosion or burnt connectors.

Ray,...So sad hearing this,and will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.I never met Bernie,and my brother told me about his restoration abillities.A very unique individual....My Corvair has been sitting for awhile,and unable to find out why my generator light does not come on.It will start,only if key is held on to start position.Once released,looses power to coil and engine quits.I replaced ignition switch,and did not cure.Maybe someone can find answer,or easy solution.Hoping all is well with you... Hello everyone.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but one of our members is in a 'Burn Center' in Boston.

I received 2 calls, minutes apart, early this morning from Augie Kropa and Walt Carlson telling me that they saw on their local Springfield, MA TV station that Bernie Grynkiewicz was badly burned in a 'flashfire' at his home in Southampton, MA.  He was transported to Boston for treatment of severe burns to the upper portion of his body.  It sounds quite serious and I hope to have more details soon.

I'm asking that you all keep our friend 'Bernie' in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.    Ray 'B'
