BSCC- Generator

You might try Ray Helger, in the past he has had a lot of 60 parts (carbs and such) BUT I am sure you would need to go out there to match it up.  Also, on the way in Tiverton there is a junk yard called Arnold’s on Crandall road – there was a 60 sedan in there.  It was in very rough shape but the last time I saw it the engine was in it.  The 60 in the junkyard was green and literally folded in half.

Hey Dave. Yes the generator is dead. Surprisingly it is not the brushes OR the armature. It is the field coils that have completely disintegrated. The 60 takes a 9” generator not the standard 10”. Not sure anyone is going to have this in stock save Clarks or Corvair Ranch. Thanks.

Is your generator dead?  Usually it is just the brushes,  which you might be able to change out quickly- Also, you could try Ray Helger (401-635-4849) in Little Compton, he might have a rebuilt one in stock or at least have a set of brushes for you!

OK gang I need help. Does anyone out there have a good used generator they would be willing to part with? My 60 uses a 9” (7” from mounting bracket to mounting bracket) I can use a 10” generator if I can get the side mount to change out mine. Thanks all.
