To whomever reads this:

I'm down in Cambridge and have a 1965 Corsa convertible for sale. There
are pictures available at http://www.wordsareimages.com/corvair. Would
you be willing to spread the word among club members? It's also for
sale on craigslist.org and Hemmings at an asking price of $7k, but
that's pretty seriously negotiable, especially for Corvair folks.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Tim Kinnel

P.S. Here's the text of the ad on craigslist:

This
is
the very desirable, sporty Corsa model with the 140hp non-turbo
motor with 4 carburetors and 4-speed manual transmission. It’s more
daily driver than concours condition, but it still looks good and gets
numerous compliments. There are bits of surface corrosion here and
there, but no structural problems that I know of. The top is in quite
good shape, no rips or tears and the back window is barely a year old.
The car is quite fun to drive, since it’s quite light and the engine is
in the rear - it seems to just hum along on the highway and feels quite
maneuverable for a car of its period.

I
purchased the car in 2002 from an owner who found the car in a barn in
New Hampshire. He had some suspension work and minor engine work done
and replaced the convertible top in 1998. He had a complete engine
overhaul done and replaced the exhaust system in 2000. All work was
done at Cotrofeld Automotive, a Corvair specialist in Vermont.

The
previous owner stored the car winters, as did I. I drove the car quite
regularly during the summer - it has always started right up at the end
of the winter except when it sat for 2 years while I was abroad.

Work I’ve had done:

2004: Replaced clutch

2007: Reinforced the side rails to prevent body flex.

2008: A connecting rod failed and I had to have a cylinder head and
piston repaired (done by Cotrofelds).

2009: Replaced the vinyl on the front seats and the rear window of the
top. I also replaced the two primary carbureters

2010: The carb bases were leaking - had them sealed.
