This ABC News 20/20 video was a real eye opener in regards to 'supposedly'  new tire saftey.  Where we Corvair owners, as a group, are buying tires of a size that are now considered a  'specialty size' and may be 'slow sellers', this video contains  a good piece of information about how to de-code the build date of any tire BEFORE  you have them mounted on your car.  The build date code is only printed on one face of a tire and that side is usually mounted with the build date code only visible on the inside.   It's a VERY sneaky and dangerous game the tire dealers play.     Ray
