hi David, question, how old is the paint because you are right that now is
the time to catch it because it will keep on running. the problem would be that
you have to get down to the good metal and start from there. then with the
body work done, a good primer and sealer, then paint and clear if your car has
it. of course if the paint is old it will be hard to blend the work. you may
end up doing the whole 1/4 or the whole fender and ya if the car has it on both
sides it probably better to shot the whole car over. so some times a little
spot can end up to be a big fix. and if its not done right the bad spots will
come back faster and much bigger. so by all means get it done soon, good luck
