Glad to hear you made it home okay Cynthia...although
it was unfortunate that in the morning confusion you
missed latching on to the "Boyden Express" as you had
intended! ;-)
Thankfully, Ron and Cathy Muise were "going your way"
and you were able to latch on to them.
Like you said, all of us in the club are ready,
willing and able to pitch in, lend a helping hand, or
just give moral support. As Elaine is always saying
(AND IT'S TRUE!), "this is the best car club there
is!"
Debi and I hung out with the later bunch for some
breakfast just down the road apiece at the "Fillin'
Station" Diner, followed by a trip to Yankee Candle
Factory for an assault on the olfactory senses as Dave
C so glibly put it. After an hour or two and a few
purchases, we made our way to Route 2/2A as most
everyone else did. Great road! Most of the towns along
the way were reminiscent of old Americana. Love it.
We did have a mishap that required pulling over
however. Things were going so well as we enjoyed the
views and the purr of the flat six and the comfortable
ride...it seems that we encountered what can only be
deemed a cruel and malicious attempt by nature to halt
our progress...
Kamikaze monarch butterflies!
That's right, dive-bombed itself right into the
windshield and smeared its yellow goo-filled innards
all over the window so that I had to pull over and
scrape and scrub its remains off before we could
continue...and just as we were starting off again, who
should come past us and begin to pull over to offer
assistance? Why, none other than Celia and Paul Raia!
Thanks for that you two! Lucky for you that you didn't
have to see what I had to contend with before we set
out again. LOL.
Other than that and one other butterfly that we
managed to escape harm from, our road trip home was
the shear joy it always is waving to passersby as they
wave, smile and give us the thumbs up.
Thanks to everyone that we had the pleasure of seeing
and spending time with this past weekend. Both Debi
and I had a wonderful time!
