Mass. requires it an annual inspection and sticker, but you don't have 
to go through the vehicle emissions testing, just the safety stuff.

Registration stickers for each year go on the license plate, but Mass. 
has an exception if you use year-of-manufacture antique plates, the 
sticker can just go on your registration card.  Not all police officers 
know this, though--we got pulled over last summer.  He didn't give us a 
ticket, but also wouldn't admit that we were right about the rule ;) 
Now I carry the info. from the registry's web site in my glove box in 
case it happens again.
